Foals of Custom Color Paint Horses...

Past and present.
Our foals are very important to us.  Not only are they our babies, they are our representatives.  Each foal we raise and place has to take with them the values of all of us here at Custom Color Paints.  All of our babies leave here with the basics of course: halter, stand, tie, trim, vet, load, bathe, give to pressure, etc.  The other very important values that they must posses are the ability to learn and to be respectful of their handler.  Now, we can only influence their ability to learn so much, we feel most of that comes from mom and dad.  But their respectfulness is something we teach them.  When you take home one of our foals, you should be able to do just about anything to them (within reason).  Without fear is how we teach our babies, and this shines through as they grow and learn more.  Our foals only stick around for so long before being snatched up by their new owners.  We feel that we can honestly say without a doubt, all of our foals are blowing their new owners minds!  We receive phone calls, e-mails, and letters that say how amazing they are, and how proud they are of their babies doing so well.  That is what we feel makes our foal program so amazing, and the proof is obviously in the pudding!  Please take a look at our latest babies, watch them grow and learn.  We have our past foals on here too, not huge in numbers, but MASSIVE in quality and temperament.
2007 Foals
Machos White Apache (pending) "Nitro"

2007 APHA Maximum Sabino Red Roan Colt

Nitro was foaled May 25, 2007 out of Machos Reverse Image X Lacey Apache. Nitro will be a big boy as he measured 10hh at 2 weeks and over 160 pounds. He has very nice pasterns, long cannon bones, large hocks, great muscling, flat knees, short topline, GREAT hip, long neck, and baby doll head. So far he looks like he will be a Maximum Sabino, which means he should be a great color producer. Nitro DOES have color on his ears, forelock, and mane. Nitro truly took the best qualities of both parents and is going to be a show stopper 'till the end. Nitro has a wonderful temperament. He doesn't mind when I come into sit with him while he sleeps, he has been fully imprinted and is completely handleable, but not spoiled, and he’s respectful of your space. He LOVES our children and is curious about everything, checking out what might be the boogie man instead of running with tail tucked. He is very sweet and loves to be touched all over. As of this time (not even 1 month old) he is finishing up his halter breaking, stepping up and down levels (pre trailer training), picking up his feet, standing for hoof cleaning, allows inspection of all body parts, and moves away from pressure. We have high hopes for our "little man" and will be fitting him for show come fall and if time allows we will begin his show career this fall also. We are expecting a baby of our own in August so what we don't get accomplished this year we will do next year. Nitro is offered for sale; see more on our sale page. Nitro will be tested for the sabino and overo gene in a couple of months, results will be posted then. Recent photos posted on our message board regularly.

Positively Snazzy (pending) "Sammy"

1/2 Arabian Pinto Chestnut Overo Filly

Owned by Ginger W.
Sammy was born June 20th 2007 out of Machos Reverse Image X RR Sasi Naz (Arabian). She is a beautifully marked filly with a wide blaze, one blue eye, and lots of "chrome" to go around. We are pleased to see that Hotrods first cross to an Arabian has turned out so stunning. She has a great stride and lots of leg to grow into. We will be watching her closely to see how she matures. We hope to see lots more of her in the future.

Last time I saw Sammy, she was quite the tank!  Full of muscle and filling out nicely!  Click on her name to see more photos!

2005 Half Arabian Chestnut Gelding

Currently owning the Luttrell Family is our surprise boy Buck! Buck was an oops as we bought a mare that we didn't realize had been covered by her past owners young colt. Buck is out of the Arabian (now gelding) Born to Be Wild X Bugaboos Baby Blues (APHA). This turned out to be one of the NICEST oops's we've seen. Buck is an amazing gelding and we are so pleased that he is doing so well with his family. He is a family horse that is such a knockout that he can easily switch to becoming a show horse in no time. He is maturing into a beautiful 2 Y/O with mind blowing conformation, great legs, a nice rump, long neck, very defined (but not too much) head, flat topline, great gaskins, and looks to kill!! We couldn't be happier with him and we are glad to see him bring so much joy to his new family.
Hermost Fair Marquie
2004 Half Arabian/ Morgan Grey Filly

"Moose" is out of AHA HIA Hermoso and MHR Fairmark Hot Start. She was a HUGE filly that we had to pull; her shoulders were the size of a 3 month old. She was and always will be one of our favorite foals as she was our first. Moose turned out to be one of the easiest foals we've ever had, after her birth that is, and she has never stopped making us proud. Her new owners, Amelia and Eric, keep in touch with us to provide updates and they are tickled pink! Moose has taken part in natural horsemanship clinics and is continuing to make her current family very proud with how well behaved she is. She truly is a testament to how we raise our babies. Thank you Amelia and Eric for providing such a wonderfully loving home for Moose.

**Update Fall 2008**
Due to the current economic downfall, we have chosen not to breed any of our mares for the 2009 season.  Please, if you have the resources, rescue a horse or foal that is in desperate need of a home!!
