SS Betcha Smoke
1997 APHA Red Roan Mare
14.3hh 1100lbs HYPP NN
We have been blessed with the opportunity to own such a wonderful mare. Shortcake is a mare I met in early 2002 at a local stable. She was someone else’s mare that I was handed while learning about halter classes. I still have a picture of that day, her and I standing together, me scratching her chin, her patiently standing there like an old pro. Later I had the opportunity to ride Shortcake at a local show and noticed in the earlier part of the class my rein had come undone from the bit. Shorty being the pro she was, never wavered. She slowed, stopped, turned, changed leads, and collected her ribbon all without that little screw. Not that we recommend riding a class with broken equipment though.
Shortcake has always been that "one that got away", being either too much, or we didn't have space for another mare at the time. So I always wondered about her and she was in my thoughts all the time. Now we have our wonderful little mare happily at home on our farm and we couldn't be happier!!
Shorty is Jose Uno bred, with Skipa Robin, Major Manna, and Poco Bueno bred, to view her pedigree click this link... http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/ss+betcha+smoke
Shortcake has that bulldog build with great conformation. She is catty and quick, but prefers to hang out on the trails. She has had 2 foals already but never by an APHA stud. So far she has a half Arabian filly and a half Arabian colt. She has beautiful conformation and a disposition that just can't be beat.

The Ladies of Custom Color
We all know we would be nowhere without great mares. We have some wonderful mares that we are currently starting with and we are pleased with all of their abilities and past foals. Take a minute to get to know each one of them while your here. We are striving to have mares that will produce foals for everyone, the Western Pleasure riders, the Hunter Jumpers, Halter fans, and Reiners alike.
Bugaboos Baby Blues
2002 APHA Sorrel Overo Mare
Height, conformation, sweet temperament, and great bloodlines. "Buggy" is a wonderful mare that we acquired from a friend. She has turned out to be a wonderful asset to us and she produced a great half-Arab colt ("Buck") April 2005 with legs that just didn't stop! Her colt not only got her great attitude and ability to learn quickly, he has some of the best conformation I have ever seen. Buggy is double Bar Deck bred with Skipper W, Chicaro Bill, Top Deck, heavy Weiscamp breeding, and Poco Bueno. We feel that she will produce great Halter and Pleasure, and possibly speed event prospects when crossed with our Stallion, Machos Reverse Image. You can view Buggy’s pedigree at http://allbreedpedigree.com/bugaboos+baby+blues

Lacey Apache
1998 APHA Sorrel Overo Mare (Sabino)
15.3hh 1000lbs OLWS Neg.
Lacey has just come to us as of February 2006 and is proving to be a wonderful girl. She is easy to handle, level headed, calm, and very smart. She is well built and a taller girl at almost 16hh. She has been bred previously to the Thoroughbred stallion, Sanctuary, and her previous 4 foals have been out of the wonderful TB stallion Prince Stanley (grandson of Secretariat).
Lacey is a Kentucky bred TB cross out of the prestigious Airdrie Apache, the leading sire of White Thoroughbred, and her sires lines go to Mr. Prospector, Bold Ruler two times, Northjet, Hail to Reason, and Northern Dancer. Her dam is the granddaughter of The Continental (QH), Three Bars, Power Command, King, Power Rio, and Poco Bueno. You can view her pedigree at http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/lacey+apache See Lacey’s 2007 colt, Nitro, on the foal page!! He's BEAUTIFUL and BIG!!!
Her 2006 Filly "Savanna has photos there as well!
We will not be breeding Lacey for a 2008 foal. We feel that she needs a year off and can't wait to start Lacey’s saddle work. Keep an eye on the message board for progress updates, once Nitro is weaned we will start her.

My Sweet Little Homewrecker2001 Appaloosa Mare (ISHR)
Also known as Sweetie, she is truly irreplaceable and I don't know what I'd do without her. I picked Sweetie up at a local auction after telling my husband I was going to look at saddles. After my bid won her I went running around the corner to tell the friend I had came with and literally ran INTO my husbands chest while screaming "I got her, I got her!". To see the look of surprise on both of our faces must have been priceless, so hence the name I registered her with. Though the argument didn't last long and she was all of a sudden not allowed next to certain horses or to walk by certain horses for fear that they might bite her or treat her the way HE (yes he fell in love with her too) wanted them to. Sweetie was the first "colored" horse we bought, she was the first horse I trained, and she was the first horse my son rode.
Right now Sweetie is sold to our good friends Amy and Demis. She will remain here at our farm and be, as always, the "Class Clown". I never planned on selling Sweetie, but she has become so attached to her new family, I just couldn't resist. She will always have a forever home here and if they ever decide to we would have her back in a heartbeat!
Amy and Demis don't have plans on breeding Sweetie as she has a small umbilical hernia. As much as this saddens us all, we don't want to risk her health and she will always be their trail companion and show gal. Sweetie is quickly earning herself a place with the kids also, they fight over which one "owns" her and they will be started on her since she is so cautious and well behaved.

Sweetie and our son, Aaron, at his first horse show.
Always the farm clown. Phllbbttt!!!
Her first night home from the Auction. Got some work to do with that uh.
Everyone has to go through that gangly stage sometime!
With her new "Mamma", Amy Jo, on one of their first rides together. They are quite the pair and Amy understands that Sweetie is quite the opinionated one.
Playing in the pasture at our old house. I just love this picture of her moving out.
And Buggys beautiful rump!
Just before she came home.
Just checking the traction in the pasture....
